Pillo AI Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy outlines how Pillo AI collects, uses, and protects your information while using our AI-powered companion device and services.

1. Information We Collect

 

Pillo AI uses cloud-based speech recognition and large language models (LLMs) to understand your requests and generate responses. We design for privacy-first interactions with encryption, minimal retention, and user controls.

  1. Voice Interactions:

        •    When you speak with Pillo, short audio clips are securely transmitted to our cloud speech-to-text and LLM service providers to process your request and return a response.
       •    By default, Pillo does not retain your audio after the response is delivered. Some providers may temporarily retain limited logs to detect fraud, abuse, or service quality issues; such retention is time-limited and governed by our data-processing agreements.
       •    If you enable Conversation History in the app, text transcripts (not raw audio) will be stored in your Pillo account so you can review past conversations. You can turn this off at any time and delete your history.

  2. User Preferences:

        •    Settings such as voice selection, temperature preferences, interaction style, and wake-word configuration may be stored on the device and, if you sign in, synced to your account to provide a consistent experience across devices.

  3. Device & App Diagnostics:

        •    Basic diagnostic data (e.g., app version, crash reports, latency, feature usage counts), battery levels, and temperature control states may be collected to maintain security, improve performance, and ensure safe operation.

  4. Subscription & Account Data (if applicable):

        •    If you subscribe to premium services, we collect necessary account and billing information (e.g., name, email, payment method via our payment processor) to provide and manage your membership.

  5. What We Don’t Do:

        •   We do not sell your personal information.
       •    We do not use your voice content or transcripts for third-party advertising.
       •    We do not allow service providers to use your data for their own advertising or model training without your explicit consent.
       •    We do not track precise location unless you grant permission for a specific feature that requires it (and you can revoke that permission at any time).

2. How We Use Your Information

Pillo AI is designed with local AI processing, ensuring your data stays secure. Here’s how we use collected information:

  • To Enhance Personalization: AI adapts to your preferences (e.g., voice tone, conversation memory, warmth settings).

  • To Improve User Experience: Analyzing non-personal metadata (e.g., battery life trends) helps optimize device performance.

  • To Enable App Functionality (If Connected): Some features, such as voice uploads or AI subscription services, require app integration.

 

Default Mode: Pillo AI operates with no internet connection for complete privacy.

Optional Features: Users can enable history-saving or cloud-based voice customization via the app.

3. Data Security & Protection

 

Pillo AI is built with a privacy-first architecture. We use strong encryption, minimize what we collect, and give you clear controls.

  1. Encryption:

        •    All traffic between your device/app and our cloud services is encrypted in transit (TLS).
       •    Any data we store on our servers (e.g., your account details or optional transcripts) is encrypted at rest.

  2. Data Minimization:

        •    We collect only what’s needed to operate Pillo (e.g., diagnostics, feature usage counts).
       •    We do not sell your personal information or use your content for third-party advertising.
       •    We do not access precise location unless you grant permission for a feature that needs it.

  3. Retention:

        •    Audio: not retained by Pillo after a response by default.
       •    Transcripts (if History is on): kept until you delete them or turn History off.
       •    Diagnostics/logs: kept only for a limited period to ensure reliability and security (generally up to 90 days).

  4. How We Keep Pillo Secure:

        •    Internet requirement: Conversational AI features require an online connection. (Certain basic device functions may work offline, but Pillo will not respond conversationally without internet.)
       •    Payment security: Subscriptions are processed by our payment provider; Pillo does not store full card numbers.
       •    Data scope: Only essential settings and account details are stored - no banking info or contacts are collected from your device.

4. Your Choices & Data Control

 

We believe in user autonomy over data. You have full control over your Pillo AI experience:

  • Reset AI Memory: Clear stored preferences anytime from device settings.

  • Opt-Out of History Features: If enabled, users can disable conversation saving at any moment.

  • App Controls (If Used): Adjust preferences, delete stored voices, or manage subscriptions in the app.

 

If you no longer wish to use Pillo AI, you can factory reset your device to remove all stored data.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to enhance transparency and comply with regulations. Users will be notified of any significant changes.
